We love upcycling!.......... an old ercol coffee table.

For those of you that follow us, you will know that we love all things up cycled! and if its not up cycling old fabric to create our personalised fabric party bags its furniture!

We recently found an old Ercol coffee table, worn and tired with coffee cup stains. A beautiful design, however it needed a little t.l.c.

So we decided to do this......

Ta dah! what do you think? We chose a Habitat paint in kingfisher which is suitable for walls, metal and wood, and a dulux primer.

We now have the "itch", chairs next we think!!!

We Love 'Ketchup On Everything' by Kay Vincent...........

Kay lives in London and has a passion for rummaging in junk shops, screen printing & Ketchup on everything!

Kay's designs are screen printed by herself in a studio in south east London. She love's turning blank pieces of paper into stories which can be shared by others and through their simplistic nature, encourage the viewer to use their imagination, and remind them not to take life too seriously.....Everything tastes better with ketchup!
 
She make's other bits and bobs which are all made in the uk, her tea towels are a popular gift!

Her prints are inspired by treasure finds in junk shops, She love's collecting retro story books.

The name 'Ketchup On Everything' came about as she wants her designs to be enjoyed by everyone, like ketchup!

The Upcycled Owl Family.

Our little upcycled owl family is growing! We blogged back in January about a making Oliver, we now have Orla and Olivia!

These little up cycled soft ornaments our made from unwanted clothes and buttons, designed by Joanna Vickers (one of our team) and soon to be added to our store.

 

Dreaming of a Picnic............

We picked up this on a bank holiday trip to Home Sense.

The box room transformation.....

On a recent visit home, my ma asked me to sort out the box room, it has been my brother's room, then my room, spare room and the junk room.

We were thinking, the box room mainly is use for the grand kids, and when the big kids come back to the nest, so, it needs to be fun for the little ones and big ones too!

We started to look out for inspiration...

One of our super customers asked us to work on a Nappy sack for her daughters bump! Not knowing the flavor we worked up a rainbow design made from up cycled materials.

Renovation rocks, the fire place.....

After 2 long years our flat which double's up as the tfpbc towers is finally completed! I can't pretend it has been easy, and believe me, I wouldn't do it again in a hurry!

We changed pretty much everything.

I was sorting through some old pictures and came across pictures of before......

Before: Cream painted marble fire place, random plug sockets, wall lights.

During: Stripping the marble painted fire place with nitromors, hurts like hell if you get it in your eye!

 

 

 

During: Fire place refurbished and the first lot of wallpaper from Brewers and sons.

After.

Plug sockets removed, fire place stripped and restored to its forma glory, a new wallpaper 'Cow Parsley' by Cole and Son Large mirror and chandelier from Portobello market. Owl vase from Graham and Green. Scented candal from Marks and Spencer.

Bubble London AW13 ..... Corby Tindersticks, Lettie Belle, Dot & Co and Poco Nido.

Sorry we missed you yesterday, we were helping our mates Poco Nido at Bubble London.

There were so many gorgeous brands showing their AW13 collections.

I always feel really inspired when visiting Bubble London and kind of in ore of people that are passionate and brave enough to do their own thing.

Here are some of my favorite little brands.........

Corby Tindersticks.

At Corby Tindersticks they aim to create fun design and illustration for kids and grown ups. Driven by the need for a creative outlet, they lovingly design products for a refreshing point of difference to the high street. Oh and they try to look after the environment and source ethically made garments too!

Lettie Belle.

Lettie Belle designs friendly interior accessories for tots' and kids' bedrooms. Products include hand-stitched cushions, giclee prints, bags and brooches.  Lettie Belle aim's to create stimulating, eco, hand-made design for the discerning youngster. They use eco-fi felt (made from waste plastic bottles), organic cotton and leather details. Motifs are nostalgic and their creations are made to be enjoyed and treasured forever!

Dot & Co.

Dot&Co was founded by Annie Coherton.  Having worked in the fashion industry for over 9 years, both in the UK and abroad, Annie saw a gap in the market for a new brand of organic babywear, something fun and colourful instead of the usual array of neutral shades and conventional designs.
Like every new adventure, Dot&Co has overcome some obstacles along the way, but Annie has always been confident that her products will stand out from the competition due to the excellent quality of the garments and distinctive styles across the range.

And last but by no means least, our mates at Poco Nido.

Poco Nido.

Poco Nido is a little brand for little people. Founded by Catherine, a footwear designer for 14 years and proud mum of 2. Their aim is to create quality clothing and footwear in limited runs so you get functional and exclusive pieces that won't break the bank - and of course happy, cool kids in the process!

Upcycled little things..............

Most of you that follow us will know that we don't like waste, and all the letters on our personalized party bags, aprons, shoppers and laundry bags are made from unwanted fabric and garments.

Sometimes we get bits and pieces that our too small for our letters, so we were wondering, what do we do with them.......

We're not quite sure if she is cute or a tad scary, but, we love her as she was our first, which made us start to think, what other little upcycled fellows can we make?

So each one of us in the tfpbc team is going to design a little upcycled fellow. Here is a sneak preview of Joanna's. Oliver, Olivia and Orla the owl will be visiting our store soon in limited runs. A more detailed post of how to make your very own will follow......
