Upcycled little things..............

Most of you that follow us will know that we don't like waste, and all the letters on our personalized party bags, aprons, shoppers and laundry bags are made from unwanted fabric and garments.

Sometimes we get bits and pieces that our too small for our letters, so we were wondering, what do we do with them.......

Ta dah!

Our funny bunny!

We're not quite sure if she is cute or a tad scary, but, we love her as she was our first, which made us start to think, what other little upcycled fellows can we make?

So each one of us in the tfpbc team is going to design a little upcycled fellow. Here is a sneak preview of Joanna's. Oliver, Olivia and Orla the owl will be visiting our store soon in limited runs. A more detailed post of how to make your very own will follow......

Oliver the owl, work in progress...

Have a good week x

Places to visit ...... Northcote Road.

I've lived in London for 13 years this year (time flies!) I've lived north, south, east and west, and shopped in every nook and cranny of this fabulous city.

Once of my favorite shopping streets for all things for the 'little ones' is Northcote Road in South West London SW11, just a spit from Clapham Junction's train station.

Nicked named "Nappy Vally" you will find every type of beautiful baby boutique from Petit Bateau to One Small Step One Giant Leap. Toy shops, children's hair dressers, children's shoe shops, children's clothes shops, maternity clothes shops, and pram shops, basically everything you will ever need for a mum to be and your little ones.

One small step one giant leap Northcote Road SW11.

Wigwams outside one of Northcote Roads many gift shops.

But it's not all about the kids! There is also a balance of shops for mum or aunties (in my case) with the likes of Kiehl's, Olivia Bonas and Cath Kidson (with a large kids section naturally).

Cath Kidson Northcote Road SW11.

And beautiful home ware interdependent stores selling antique upcycled furniture and vintage inspired gorgeousness, not forgetting the traditional paint manufacturers Farrow and Bal

Loving Vintage Northcote Road SW11.

Antiques Market Northcote Road SW11.

After a lovely mooch around the shops you will need some sort of refreshment, you will not be disappointed with loads of bars, restaurants and cafes to choose from.

Next time your 'down south' why don't you pop in for a nose! enjoy! x

How to make your own upcycled heart christmas decorations....

Sorry we missed you last Monday, Christmas eve was quite a hectic affair!

We hope you all had a lovely Christmas.

Now, before Christmas we promised to show you how to make your own heart upcycled decorations.

They don't have to be for Christmas, you can use any material, ribbon and buttons and make them however big or small you want!

OK so here we go!.........

Firstly draw on a sheet of paper a heart shape and cut out two. Pin them onto your fabric.....

Cut around your paper pattern hearts until you have two fabric hearts.....

Place the hearts with the right sides together and sew either by hand or on the machine. Leaving the hole at the top about 2cm wide......

Trim the excess around the stitching......

Turn your heart inside out......

Stuff your heart with old cushion filler or toy filler, which you can get from any good haberdashery store...

Hand stitch the opening of your heart .......

Pin some ribbon in a loop shape to the centre of the heart......

Hand sew a button in the centre of your heart......

Ta dah! up cycled decorations! For any occasions not just for Christmas!

Personalized wedding favour bags..............

For those of you who follow us, you will know that we recently had a huge order (for little old us) 125 personalized wedding favor bags. The grooms are my very close friends and I was honored to share their special day with them.

It was fabulous! After the very touching and emotional service, the guests walked down a marble stair case to be greeted by the best men offering a cocktail can of either Gin or vodka and Tonic, a bag of nuts and a packet of biscuits in The Friendly Party Bag Co's favor bag, a light refreshment while we hopped on to a coach, to get to the party venue.

I though I would share some pics with you, unfortunately I did'nt snap Toby and Ben with a bag! :(

I'd like to take this opportunity to wish Toby and Ben all the very best for the future, and lots and lots of love xx

Busy best men and bags fillers.
